Is the tiger woods story an example of a double standard?

There is a degree of truth to the double standard, but it doesn't make it right. Tiger will lose millions of dollars from all this... especially after more information becomes public. I personally think this is worse than what Kobe did. Kobe was wrongly charged with rape because a woman he had an affair with tried to extort him. Tiger reportedly has had multiple affairs with multiple people and is being far to stuck up to talk publicly about it like Kobe did.Now one thing you're mis-comparing with the Chris Brown Rhianna thing is that the abuse there involved legal proceedings and law breaking. Tiger Woods technically didn't break any laws other than reckless driving and public. Instead he just showed hes a scum bag who thinks he is above the sanctity of marriage.

Well men can do a lot more damage against women. I'm just glad it wasn't the other way around.

I think alimony laws betray a double standard.

@ RoVale- "Advertisers want a hot young talent and he's not really either of those anymore."He's only 33 years old and has 6 major wins this year. Wow, he sure does seem old and talentless.

The difference is that if she had hit him, both Tiger and Elin don't want this fact revealed, so without any other definitive evidence, at least in the eyes of the law, she hasn't done anything wrong.

I just saw Tiger Woods wearing a Pimpit Fight Team t-shirt I guess he just got a new endorsement from http://www.pimpit.com

I think Tiger is going to lose his endorsement deals and it has little to do with the events that have occurred recently. The reasons for that is that he's getting older and his playing isn't as consistent as it used to be. Advertisers want a hot young talent and he's not really either of those anymore. Public interest in him has been cooling for some time now and the advertisers are seeing it.

I think that your question hits on an important point, but if Tiger and his wife aren't going to talk to the police, there is nothing that can be done about this situation. I think that if one of the parties had filed a police complaint against the other, then this Tiger story would have had a different angle.

Personally, I don't understand the uproar about Tiger acting like a tiger. The United States led economic sanctions against Iraq between the coalition invasions led to an estimated 500,000 deaths of children in Iraq. (Noam Chomsky)Tiger ---> Slept with 11 willing womenUS ---> Deaths 500,000 children in Iraq I don't think we should stop sponsoring Tiger, I think Americans should stop sponsoring the United States of America. I can forgive infidelity better than I can terrorism through economic sanctions.

In my view I think that Tiger Woods should not be blamed regardless of his infidelity. For example when Chris Brown beat up Rhianna even though it was alleged that they were other incidents where she had hit him before he still lost his endorsements and respect and his audience. If it had been other way around Tiger Woods would have lost his endorsements and would have been looked at. I personally think if we give woman this type of privilege then I dont see anything wrong with why man should get more money than woman (especially in sports) because women have all these rights.
